What made me get into nursing was because I wanted to one day be able to take care of my grandmother if she every got sick!! So, in February, 2007, my grandmother was starting to take ill, so I stopped working to take care of her! She was starting to get worst as the month went on, and required much more care. I had to feed her, bath her, give her medicine, and take care of her wound because I wanted her to know she was in the comfort of her own home. She got much worst, to the point of starting hospice care. I still was taking care of her until she died, on October 7, 2007. I am just glad I was a Certified Nursing Aide and had the skills to be able to care for her in her last months. Now I want to give someone else's grandparent the same care I gave my own grandmoather, because all elderly are very special.
