Caregiving Story

Janet Hoffman

My first time ever working with the elderly, I met a women named Janet. She was non-verbal and it was amazing to me, because she still could communicate with me in a whole other way. She had no family, but I became her family. I was at this group home for 4 years. When she saw me coming, her eyes would light up like a newborn baby. I really miss her. And I wouldn't trade that experience for the world.

The point of my story is that if you ever work around senior, you would know if the job is for you, because it is in your heart, mind, body, and soul. It is not just a job, it is your responsibility.
