My mom was very independent. She cared for herself for a long time. It was very hard for her to adjust or settle down anywhere except in her own home. A lot is taken from seniors when they get to the point of not having much to say about the remainder of their future. We had some ups and downs. All I can say is love them deeply. Be patient and allow them to be all that they are and will be until they are no longer with us.
