1. Traditional Medicare - The people who are aged 65 and above will be qualified for medicare. The traditional medicare is divided into two parts Part A and Part B. Most of the senior people get medicare Part A at no cost but for Part B, they need to pay a monthly premium.
2. Medicare Advantage Plans - The recipients can select to enroll for a Medicare Advantage Plan which is also called Medicare Part C. This plan covers both the inpatient and outpatient medical care. The recipients are given the freedom to choose from the different health insurance plans.
3. Medicare Part D - This type of insurance covers the medicines for the senior. The recipients are able to choose from a number of different prescription medicine plans. A monthly premium has to be paid for this type of insurance.
4. Medicaid - Medicaid offers insurance for seniors whose income is very low and who have limited resources. This covers inpatient and outpatient medical care, medicines, home health care and also mental health care. In this plan, the people may benefit both from Medicare and Medicaid if they can fulfill the eligibility criteria. To get more information, the senior should first find the Medicaid financial qualifications in their state. Many times a Medical Doctor will assist with this.
5. AARP - AARP provides different health insurance options for seniors. This also includes supplemental plans or Medigap plans that will cover certain extra items that Medicare does not usually cover. This plan also offers dental insurance and long-term care insurance for seniors.
