With the aging of the baby boomers, the senior care industry is expanding, causing a 40 percent growth in U.S. senior care agencies since 2008, according to Caregiverslist.com, which monitors the eldercare job market.
More than 4,000 caregivers and certified nurse aids are hired monthly from Caregiverlist.com by subscribing senior care companies.
“Since 2008, the industry has experienced expansive growth, even in a challenged economy,” said Caregiverlist.com Founder and CEO Julie Northcutt. “There is a huge demand in senior care, along with great pay opportunities and a variety of jobs available. These jobs do not require a college degree and caregivers can earn much more than minimum wage jobs. The industry is growing so quickly often these jobs can’t be filled due to a lack of applicants.”
