Becoming a Senior Caregiver: What led Iris to a career in caregiving?
What led you to begin a career in caregiving? What led me to be a caregiver is I enjoy helping people. I have had other jobs but I enjoy helping people and bringing joy to them. I am a nurturer.I have had to be a caregiver to my parents and it helped me to discover that's what I wanted to continue doing as a career.
How many years have you been a caregiver? Ten years.
What is one of your most memorable caregiving experiences? One of the memorable moments as a caregiver that I can remember is that one of the people in my care was excited about no longer having to take diabetic medication because changing his diet and exercise helped . He was so happy especially having to take so much other medication for other ailments, this was a great accomplishment that I got to help and share with this person.
What has caregiving taught you? Being a caregiver has taught me or should I say added patience to my life
