Becoming a Senior Caregiver: What led Stephanie to a career in caregiving?
What led you to begin a career in caregiving? I love to care for others that are in need. I see that when making others comfortable and less depressed can benefit their health and life in more ways then one.
How many years have you been a caregiver? I have cared for a few children, as a babysitting job at one point, and they were happy to be around me because I gave them attention and helped them with their homework. They became straight A students.
What is one of your most memorable caregiving experiences? I haven't really started as a medical caregiver officially, but I am in the process in obtaining my associates in medical assisting and I can not wait to volunteer at the nursing home.
What has caregiving taught you? It has taught me the patience and understanding. Everyone has their situations, being patient and there to understand and listen to them and help tend to their needs; helps them live their life a little more easier.
How do you manage stress that comes with caregiving? I usually let things go quickly because everyone has their own emotions and ways of responding to situations. Putting myself through the stress will not help anyone especially for myself.
