Becoming a Senior Caregiver: What led Tiffany to a career in caregiving?
What led you to begin a career in caregiving? I love helping people of all kind. I grew up helping others, "no" was not in my vocabulary.
How many years have you been a caregiver? I started being a caregiver in 2007, so six years.
What is one of your most memorable caregiving experiences? I took care of a doctor, he encouraged me to pursue nursing. He was a great client and I learned so much from him. I remember going to work and arriving to a house full of people, the doctor had passed. I truly felt a loss.
What has caregiving taught you? I had learned that every client is unique in their own way. Patient and a genuine heart is the key to being a great caregiver.
How do you manage stress that comes with caregiving? Things can get real stressful, when it's too much I may have a ten minute break to myself somewhere quite. When I do live in care, I simply write poems.
