Becoming a Senior Caregiver: What led Monet to a career in caregiving?

The main thing or person I should say that led me to choosing caregiving as a career is my grandmother.

One of my most memorable caregiving experiences would have to be this recent experience that I've encountered with my grandmother, I was caring for her as I usually do and she wanted to talk so I sat down and talked to her about the past family reunions that the family would have, we talked and laughed and just had a great time bringing up the good old times. I just enjoyed bringing joy to her that day.

I've been a caregiver for a year and eight months now, it will be two years in February .

Being a caregiver has taught me so many things it has even re-taught me things I've already been taught. It has taught me how to be a better person, how to be more caring, more passionate, more responsible, how to be more of a people's person. It has also given my more insight on the lives of the elderly.

The way that I manage the stress that comes with caregiving is by writing poetry. I loved poetry for a very long time. I didn't start writing poetry until I was about 13 years old, that is when I wrote my very first piece titled "Love is" and every since that poem I simply couldn't stop writing.
