Many caregivers find their work to be fulfilling and enjoy providing care for another.  Caregiverlist’s stories submitted by caregivers portray the joy that often occurs despite the potential hardships of caregiving.  The stories include many grandchildren and adult children who have cared for grandparents or parents; these stories convey a resounding theme of gratitude for all their parents gave them and the bonding that occurs through a caregiving relationship.  Stories from professional caregivers reveal an emotional connection that often develops between themselves and their client, and their respect for them and the lessons they learn through their work with them.

To become a CNA in the San Diego area, one must complete an accredited CNA program and pass the state CNA test.  Such programs include the Ceasar Chavez Nursing School and United Education Institute in San Diego.  Typical requirements for enrolling in a CNA program include being 18 years of age or older, an English and Math competency exam, a high school diploma or G.E.D., and a drug test.

Those beginning or thinking about beginning a career as a CNA or Caregiver may take Caregiverlist’s sample test.  The test features questions pertaining to how to respectfully and successfully care for a client.  An example of a question featured in the sample test is, “You are measuring Mrs. Clark's pulse and it is 98 beats per minute, which is significantly different than her normal pulse.  What should you do?”  You may additionally pay $6.95 to take a complete practice test.

San Diego caregiver jobs are expected to maintain a steady rise in demand as America’s Baby Boomer generation ages and more caregivers are needed.

Caregivers may apply for a job using Caregiverlist’s application and may additionally refer a friend to fill out the application as well.
