Chicago C.N.A. Job Positions Available Part-time and Full-time

9/19/2012

Chicago area hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living communities and senior home care agencies hire C.N.A.'s (Certified Nursing Assistants) to assist with the hands-on care for seniors.  As the Illinois' Department of Health requires a minimum number of C.N.A.'s to be on staff at all times for each resident, there is an ongoing need for C.N.A.'s in order to keep up with the minimum staffing requirements.

Schools such as the Illinois School of Health Careers provide C.N.A. training.  Once a student has completed course work, they may take the state C.N.A. test and become officially certified as a C.N.A.

A former C.N.A. student who has worked as a C.N.A. for more than 7 years, Patrick Welch, shares that the most difficult part of C.N.A. training was dealing with body excrements.  Although this is a standard part of living, it takes professional training to assist seniors with their Activities of Daily Living.

An experienced C.N.A. and R.N. will supervise a C.N.A. student in training during the clinical trail portion of the training.  Students work in nursing homes usually to complete their field training.

Caregivers interested in becoming a C.N.A. can take a sample C.N.A. test and find a Chicago C.N.A. school to learn about admission requirements.  An official practice C.N.A. exam is also available on Caregiverlist.

Apply for a C.N.A. job in Chicagoland on Caregiverlist or become a caregiver first and apply for a caregiving job.
