You may also want to take the 8 to 10-Hour Online Caregiver Certification Training to develop your caregiving skills and apply for a caregiving job in your area. Some senior care jobs require certification as a nursing aide and others require only caregiver training. As employers seek quality caregivers, ask them if they will reimburse you for your caregiver training costs or pay for your nursing aide school tuition. All states require 85 hours or more for Certified Nursing Aide training as this meets the federal guideline and some states do require additional hours. Find the school in your area to review hours required for the C.N.A. program which include classroom instruction and clinical hours where you will be in the field following a working C.N.A. who has already passed the state certification exam and works at a licensed nursing home, hospital or assisted living community. All licensed care facilities must maintain a minimum number of C.N.A.'s on staff at all time, according to the number of residents they are caring for and this is why there will continue to be an ongoing need for Certified Nursing Aides.
